Our History

West Laurel Water Association, Inc. was incorporated on February 25th, 1970 as a nonprofit corporation in the Commonwealth of Kentucky for the purpose of establishing, developing and operating a complete water supply and distribution system.  

Today, West Laurel serves over 14,700 people with high quality water in Southwestern Laurel County. West Laurel purchases it's water from Wood Creek Water District. Wood Creek also provides all administrative and maintenance labor for West Laurel. West Laurel is governed by its own board of directors. West Laurel Water Association is administered by a board of directors conforming to the bylaws set forth in the Articles of Incorporation of the Association. The corporation employs a superintendent, which in turn employs and establishes all labor and assistance needed to carry out his or her duties.
